Lifting an image from the old Irish 10p coin, which shows the Salmon of Knowledge, I started with this template and incorporated the intricate pattern from other coins and Celtic artworks.
Using more Celtic knot patterns, there is a particular sense of time and place that permeates through the Tree of Wisdom - the original source of the knowledge.
Using a combination of uncial style typefaces mixed with a dramatic display face, the sense of tone and era are carried through.
